What is a birth chart?
The sky you were written under
A birth chart is a snapshot of the sky at the moment and place you were born, drawn as a wheel you can learn one symbol at a time.

The idea, in plain language.
Everything in this guide lives somewhere in your chart, so let's start with what a chart actually is.
A birth chart is a snapshot of the sky at the moment and place you were born: where the Sun was, where the Moon was, which sign was coming up over the eastern horizon, where every planet sat. It is drawn as a wheel, twelve segments around a center, with the planets scattered through it like a scatter of stars. Yours was set the moment you arrived, and it never changes. It is less a personality test and more a very old, very patient portrait.
In the app, your chart is called Your Sky, and it is drawn the moment you add your birth date, place, and time. No report to decode, no jargon wall. Tap any planet and it opens in plain language: what that body means, the sign it wears, the house it lives in. If a cluster of planets sits close together, press and hold, and a small lens spreads them apart so you can read the crowd.
One honest note: a few pieces of the chart, the rising sign and the houses, depend on your birth time. If you don't know yours, the app will say so plainly and give you the parts that hold true anyway. A birth certificate, or a parent's memory, often settles it.

Quick answers
Common questions, plainly answered.
What does a birth chart show?
It shows where the Sun, Moon, planets, and horizon points appeared at the moment and place you were born.
Does a birth chart change?
Your natal birth chart stays fixed. The moving sky changes, but the chart of your birth remains the same reference map.
Do I need an exact birth time?
An exact time is needed for the rising sign and houses. If you do not know it, the planetary signs still offer useful, honest information.
