What are aspects in astrology?

The conversations

Aspects are the angles between planets, the blended voices, balancing acts, natural gifts, and productive friction in a chart.

The idea, in plain language.

One more piece of grammar and you have the whole sentence. Planets in a chart are not strangers to each other. They sit at angles, and certain angles are conversations, called aspects. You only need four to start.

A conjunction is two planets side by side, so close their voices blend into one. An opposition is two planets across the wheel from each other, a long conversation across the room, tension that wants balancing. A trine is an easy angle, two planets in effortless agreement, gifts that come so naturally you may not notice them. A square is a sharp angle, friction, the productive kind, the grit that gets pearls made.

None of these is good or bad. A chart of all trines would never get out of bed, and a chart of squares builds empires. The conversations are just the texture of being a person.
